Rick and Debbie Christian with President Kagame

Rick and Debbie Christian sealed the publishing deal with Rwanda President, Paul Kagame January 21, 2006 at his Kigali home.

Time Magazine Honors Rwanda Pres. Paul Kagame

May 2009 -- Time magazine’s annual 100 issue names Paul Kagame among those having the most impact on our world in 2009 and references his acclaimed biography,                      A Thousand Hills (Wiley & Sons), that was repped by Alive.

In the current issue, Rwanda’s president is cited in the “Leaders and Revolutionaries” category for ending its 1994 genocide, and then rebuilding the country and launching widespread reform, becoming in the process the “face of emerging African leadership” and a “model for the rest of the world.”  “Kagame's leadership has a number of uncommon characteristics,” Time reports.  “One is his willingness to listen to and learn from those who oppose him. When journalist Stephen Kinzer was writing a biography of Kagame, the President gave him a list of his critics and suggested that Kinzer could discover what he was really like by interviewing them. Only a humble yet confident leader would do that.

Written by celebrated pastor/author Rick Warren, the article also spotlights Kagame’s reconciliation strategy, management model, empowerment of women in leadership and insistence on self-reliance (that) are transforming a failed state into one with a bright future.” -- RC
